Allow Court To Decide, YAYON President, Oluwole Knocks Pa Adebanjo Over Statement To Tinubu 

Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organization of Nigeria (YAYON) has condemned a statement credited to acting leader of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo recently, that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not Nigeria’s President-elect.

The Apex umbrella body of Yoruba Youths who expressed disappointment and shock with the statement said Chief Adebanjo can create his own INEC office to announce whoever he wishes as it's own Nigeria President-elect.  

It would be recalled that Afenifere, through its acting leader, Ayo Adebanjo, rejected the declaration of Asiwaju, saying Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who came third, actually won the election.

Speaking at a joint retreat of Yoruba Youth National leaders in Southwest held at Abeokuta the Ogun State capital, YAYON President, Oluwole Eric insisted that Asiwaju clearly won majority of the votes cast at the recent election and was rightly declared winner by the INEC.

YAYON leader insisted that "It was regrettably that such statement could come from the so call Yoruba leader therefore warned against the repeat of the outcome of June 12 election when the election of another Yoruba man, the late Chief Mashood Abiola was annulled and likewise they didn't allowed our founding Chief Obafemi Awolowo to rule Nigeria through some betrayals among yoruba leaders

Oluwole said the June 12, 1993 election, which held at about 30years ago was widely regarded as Nigeria’s fairest election but it was annulled, Oluwole insisted that such history will not repeat itself after Tinubu’s victory at the polls.

YAYON advised Pa Ayo Adebanjo to allowed the court to decide, so far the matter is still in court

According to YAYON President "We're solemnly behind Asiwaju and prepared to resist any attempt by any group or individual to stop or disrupt the inauguration of Tinubu on May 29."

It should also be on record that YAYON will not hesitate to mobilise a mega rally by mobilising all the sisters organizations, Yoruba sons and daughters within and outside the country to defend Asiwaju's mandate against any enemies of democracy especially bad enemies among Yoruba leaders.

The Apex Yoruba Youth group therefore appealed to all aggrieved Yorubas to support and work with Asiwaju for the betterment of the country.
