Eid-El-Fitr Celebration: Lawal Congratulates Ogun Youths, Advises Them to Remember The Lessons of Ramadan


The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Youth Matters, Comrade Olamide Lawal, has congratulated all Muslim Youths in the state for successfully observing the holy month of Ramadan.

Lawal made this known during a media chat with Journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital.

He explained that  the month of Ramadan offers the opportunity for all Muslims to have personal encounters with Allah while obeying His laws.

According to him "The Holy month of Ramadan is observed every year. Eid El Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims observe fast from dusk to dawn. The month-long fasting, which is considered to be one the sternest one, ends on the eve of Eid after sighting the first crescent of the new moon.

"Eid El Fitr is one of the most important festivals for Muslims around the globe, it is a day that affords Muslim faithfuls worldwide the opportunity to greet each other, exchange gifts and feast together in love", he said. 

He urged youths in the state to support the efforts of Governor Abiodun in "Building our Future Together", adding that governance requires the support and corporation of every member of the society.

He further advised youths to pray for the state and country in general in its efforts to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. 

While felicitating with them, Lawal reminded them of the need to use face masks during the celebration and also obey all medical guidelines to prevent the spread of corona virus.
