Ogun Police Arrests 2 Suspected Arm Robbers





The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two armed robbery suspects, Evans Iyam and Adedayo Taiwo while on robbery escapade at Damsalam street in Ajuwon area of the state.

This was revealed today in a press statement by the command spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta the state capital.

Mr Oyeyemi explained that the duo were arrested following a distress call received by the police in Ajuwon division that a three man robbery gang had stormed the street and shooting sporadically thereby thrown the whole street into panic.

He stated that the DPO Ajuwon division SP Andrew Akinseye in response to the distress call quickly mobilized his anti robbery team and moved to the scene. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels but were hotly chased by members of the community, resulting in the arrest of two members of the gang.

On interrogation, they confessed coming to the street from ishasi in Lagos State for robbery operation. Recovered from the arrested duo is a gun, as man hunt for the escaped member of the gang has begun.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the special anti robbery squads ( SARS) for discreet investigation.
