Following the submission of the judicial panel of inquiry on shootings at EndSARS protest by Lagos by Lagos State government to unravel the Lekki Toll Gate alleged massacre, a governorship aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in Ogun State,  Prince John Adegbola has called on the Federal government to sanction and bring to book, all those involves in the incident.

Adegbola made the call in a statement, he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the State capital.

He revealed that the report has put an end to lies being peddled by governments, stressing that victims' families must be compensated.

His words: " I’m happy that this report has put an end to all the lies being peddled by government handlers. All officers of the police  and the military found wanting should be sanctioned as well as brought to book. Families of identified victims should be compensated".

He however, called for holistic reform of the Nigerian Police in order to bring sanity into the system.

Adegbola who was happy about the outcome of the report, said the current President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government must ensure human rights of Nigerians are protected, insisting that no government can take away the right of Nigerians to protest.

"To crown it all, government should ensure that a wholistic reform of the police is carried out so that these innocent citizens don’t die in vain".

He stated "The present government needs to do better in the area of human rights violations. You can’t take away the right to protest from an oppressed nation. PMB himself participated in protests in the past, why is he now clamping down on anyone who protests their failed government?".

Adegbola also called on international bodies, organisations to bar government officials, officers who are involved from entering their countries, saying the action would serve as a deterrent to other "tyrants".

"I call on international bodies UN, AU and western countries, particularly UK, US and Canada to deny any government official or officers of the police and military found culpable, rights of entry into their nations. This will serve as a deterrent unto other tyrants", he concluded.
