Traditional ruler instals new Aremo Oba of Iraniken Kingdom

The Oniraniken of Iranikenland, Sagamu, Oba Samson Adeniyi, on Sunday installed Chief Bolanle Akinyemi as the new Aremo Oba of Iraniken kingdom in Sagamu.

Adeniyi said at the installation ceremony, in his palace in Sagamu, that Akinyemi’s choice was based on his immense contributions to the development of Iraniken Kingdom.

The traditional ruler noted that the installation was an opportunity to appreciate him and spur him to do more in lifting the kingdom to a greater height.
He used the opportunity to appeal to Gov. Dapo Abiodun to intervene in the land dispute between Makun and Iraniken communities.

Recall that there has been a dispute between Makun and Iraniken communities over a family’s disputed land at Oke-rala village via Simawa in the Sagamu LGA.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the newly installed Aremo Oba said it was a great honour done to him and his family.

“They say to whom much has been given much is demanded, it is now for me to go back and look at areas of inadequacies and see how I can help to attract development in the place.

“I know that one of the things that they would be looking forward to is the solution to the land dispute between the Makun community and Iraniken community.

“We have already embarked on peace talks and we are looking forward to achieving it soon,” he said.

NAN reports that his wife, Risikat Akinyemi was also installed Yeye Oba of Iraniken Kingdom.(NAN)
