Ogun Lawmaker, Wahab Assures Igbokofin Residents Of Reclaiming Encroached Portions Of Nigeria Land by Republic of Benin

The Lawmaker representing Ketu Constituency (II) in Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Wahab Haruna Abiodun Egungbohun has assured the residents of Igbokofin and Asaga to reclaim encroached portions Of Nigeria Land by Republic of Benin Republic in the areas.


Hon. Wahab who led a team in his constituents and the security personnel to Igbokofin and Asaga community on a mission of assessment tour to ascertain the encroachment of Nigeria land by the Republic of Benin said his confidence that the necessary authorities will yielded to his call.

The team which comprises of the leaders in Yewa North (II) state Constituency included Hon Falola, and Hon Pabida former Chairman Yewa North local Government among others.

It would be recalled that Hon. Wahab who had earlier visited Igbokofin assured the residents of the areas of the state government’s intervention through urgent engagements with the Federal Government to reclaim the encroached portions in the affected areas.

In fulfilling the promised and to ensure all functional authorities yield to the call of his constituents on the critical national issue at Igbokofin Yewa North, the National Boundary Commission and the state government delegation with Hon Wahab Haruna Abiodun visited Igbokofin on the final fact finding mission to ensure Nigeria land is not being encroached by the Republic of Benin.

The powerful delegation team visited the area affected on the boundary lines . The field Missioner in the area . PST Kunle Garb took the delegation team round the boundary with explanation on how they are being treated by the Benin Republic Police in the area.


The Lawmaker, appealed to both the state government and the federal government delegation to give prompt and quick intervention to solve the lingering border issues and also to consider the area in provision of need Social amenities.

He explained that an illegal adjustment of pillars at Nigeria’s border by Benin Republic officials has led to encroachment into communities in Yewa North, Ogun State.

Wahab said the illegal pillar adjustments have led to encroachment into some communities in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

He expressed confidence that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun is capable of exploring all necessary avenues to find a lasting solution to the problem.
