HON ADIJAT CANVASSES SUPPORT FOR PROGRESSIVE LEADERSHIP AS NIGERIA TURNS 62

As Nigeria celebrates her 62nd independence, the Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo has sought the need for Nigerians to elect result-driven and responsive leaders, who can further deepen democratic practices in the nation.

The Commissioner in her goodwill message, said in the spirit of the evergreen achievements of the nation's founding fathers, it has became imperative to entrust the governance of the country into the hands of leaders with rich pedigree, who can manage human and material resources to deliver more development for the citizens of the country.

Recounting how the nation has overcome civil war, military incursions in governance, pandemic and other challenges which have threatened her stability, the commissioner admonished the people to give increasing support to competent individuals who are capable and well-prepared to take the nation to greater height both at the State and Federal levels.

According to her, "we must do everything humanly possible to
build an enduring democracy and egalitarian society; shun religious, ethnic and geo political sentiments in the best interest of appreciating our founding fathers who laboured so hard and sacrificed so much to build and bequeath to us this wonderful nation.

We owe it a duty to consolidate their great legacies, by looking forward to the future with great confidence and optimism; promote, protect and preserve a more prosperous, peaceful, united and secure Nigeria, where all, irrespective of their leanings and background, can aspire to succeed".

Assuring that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun will not renege on its promises, the Commissioner noted that more developmental programmes were underway for the benefit of the people across the State.
