Appointment : Ogun LP Accuses Gov. Abiodun Over Delay Of Appointment Promise

The Labour Party (LP) in Ogun  has expressed worried over the delayed in appointment promised the party by  Gov.  Dapo Abiodun.

Mrs Modupe Sanyaolu, the governorship candidate of the party in the 2019 general elections , who spoke in an interview, hinted that all promised made by Gov. Abiodun before the party dropped the case against him at the Supreme Court , had not been fulfilled till now.

The LP governorship candidate  recalled that the party withdrew its election petition appeal against the victory of Gov. Abiodun at the Supreme Court.

Sanyaolu explained that the decision came following a peace deal by Gov. Abiodun's lead counsel at the tribunal, Prof. Taiwo Osipitan (SAN).

She revealed that  Gov. Abiodun, who spoke through his counsel had an agreement of inclusion of appointments into his cabinet but nothing was done till now.

"We talked to the lawyer and the lawyer said we should drop the case and we said okay on a gentleman agreement but since we issued the notice of withdrawal, nothing was done till date.

"Believe me, the day we issue the notice of discontinual, the governor was the first person that posted it on Facebook and you can go to check it.

"Since then, all the agreement we had, the lawyer came back to me that he has so many Advisers now and his (Abiodun) not listening to him (lawyer).

"All what we discussed to drop the case which appointments was part of it had not been honoured, "she said.

Speaking on a Facebook post by Comrade Olaposi Oginni accusing Abiodun to quickly rethink and be appreciative of the efforts of Baba Osoba and Engr. Ayo Olubori on the similar petition of unlawful exclusion of LP from Ogun State Governorship ballot.

Oginni in his post added that "It's now very clear that Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun would have suffered the same fate as Gov. Diri of Bayelsa, adding that  "I stand tall to say that I and the LP faction I led at that time did all we could to get Governor Abiodun off the hook on the instructions of Baba Osoba and assurance from Engr. Ayo Olubori.

He added that "It's very unfortunate that the Governor of Ogun State remain ungrateful to date, perhaps thinking that the case was a child play.

Responding to the post, the LP Governorship Candidate lamented that Oginni was just crying more than the bereaved.

According to her "He was no longer a member of LP, we that paid the lawyer, do everything and I don't know his own business with the outcome of Bayelsa state Governorship election.

"When I contested the Governorship election last year under LP, Oginni was not part of our party, he was partially part of our party but he was not part of us when we were going to the court, he was just doing his own thing, he was just a saboteur."

"He doesn't have any say in the LP issue as far as I am concerned, we and the National Party Chairman just decided to withdraw the case from court because we have a gentleman agreement with the Prof. Femi Osipitan who was the Dapo Abiodun lawyer and we decided to withdraw the petition," she concluded.

All efforts to get reaction from the LP chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi  prove abortive as Arabambi failed to pick call neither return the call up till now.
