Wow: Read About Ogun Event Planner, Journalist Who Dives Into Beauty Business

Miss Adebukola Okuneye, is a relatively known name in Ogun State in the Event Planning, Journalism profession. She recently launched an ultra modern beauty salon in Abeokuta, the state capital to add to her numerous business ideas.

On this edition of Personality Profile, The News Ville exrays this enigmatic entrepreneur who say the fear of poverty is her driving force.

Miss Adebukola Okuneye is a combination of beauty and brain. She is a reporter of Splash 106.7FM, Abeokuta and member of Ogun state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The female journalist cum enterpreneur attended Mercy Model Nursery and Primary school, Ijebu Igbo, after which she proceeded to Sacred Heart Catholic College in Abeokuta, then graduated from Redeemers University, all in Ogun state. 

Because of her determination, focus and ambitions for success she went for her Masters Degree at University of Ibadan (UI)

Adebukola found herself in event planning in April 2017 after helping one of her friends plan her wedding . The interest and encouragement from people drew her to the world of events, according to her.

“Now, Event became what I miss when I don’t have an event to organize. It has become part of me“

Speaking on why she ventured into beauty business where she opened a unisex salon recently, Adebukola said, "I love beautifying people especially my brides, because I love anything that has to do with beauty. Going into Unisex Salon is to add to what I will call my passion. With our unisex salon, clients can be sure of a complete events“ 

Reacting on the relationship between journalism and event, the ever vibrant lady in her 30s pointed that a journalist is expected to have little or complete understanding of all professions or skills, so as to aide news gathering.

“We are still in the line of delivery to the society “ she stressed 

Explaining her setting up Elegant Events and Surprises, she explained that Elegant Events came to limelight in 2017 and Elegant Surprises in 2020. While the idea of expanding the business came in 2021.

She said...

“The uniqueness of our business to others is that our price are affordable, we give our services at luxury. That’s why in Abeokuta, we are unique (in birthday surprises, event planning, event ushering and lately Unisex Salon).

"Elegant events can categorically say all our pioneer ushers are graduates and currently serving our country (NYSC) because we push and encourage all those who work with us .

"In ten years from now I see Elegant Events And Unisex Salon globally with God on our side".
