OBANIKORO MOURNS OLOPADE, SAYS NIGERIA LOST ANOTHER GREAT MAN

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has commiserated with the family, friends and associates of a foremost nationalist and industrialist, Chief Obafemi Olopade over the death of the nonagenarian who passed on at the age of 95.

Obanikoro in a statement by his Special Assistant, Sulaimon Adebiyi expressed shock and deep sense of loss about the demise of the front line businessman.

According to him, "Chief Olopade lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation and was a model to many of us. He was very passionately and actively involved in the struggle for Nigeria's independence, even as a leader of the Students' Union in London, United Kingdom"

He added that the late business tycoon would be sorely missed, especially for his brilliance, intelligence, wisdom, unequaled and detailed analysis of issues as well as his patriotic poise.

The former minister expressed his heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire family and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, a bosom friend of the deceased.
