Cristmas: Remember the Virtues of Jesus Christ, Ogun-Waterside Vice Chair Tell Christians

As Christians in Ogun-Waterside LG join the rest of the world to celebrate Christmas, the Executive Vice Chairman, of the local government, Princess Abioye has advocated peaceful co-existence and imbibing of the enduring lessons of sacrifice which the season represents.

In her Christmas goodwill message to the people of Ogun-Waterside, Abioye said the promise of the LG's greatness can only be realized with sacrifice on the part of all concerned.

Reiterating the determination of the LG administration to keep the wheel of progress turning with people focused policies and far reaching infrastructural development projects, the Vice-Chairman urged the people of the LG to continue to live together in peaceful and harmonious co-existence.

The principal point of her message is the emulation of Jesus Christ

She said, "We need to remember the love that Jesus taught. We must love our neighbours as ourselves, do good to them and mean them well, whether or not they belong to the faith of Christianity.

“Faithful adherence to the virtues of Jesus Christ, including love, unity, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence, which constitute the fundamental ingredients for development of any society, will sustain the growth and stability of Ogun-Waterside.”

"The period of Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the symbol of Christianity and the harbinger of peace, love and good tidings.”

While urging Nigerians across religious divides to imbibe values exemplified by Christ during His earthly mission, Abioye urged the people of Ogun-Waterside and other Ogun State to imbibe the values of Christmas by promoting peace, love, friendship and unity.
