Shonekan Children Pens Heart-warming Message To Celebrate Mother At 83
Honour your father and mother, says one of the most important commandments in the holy book, just as today, December 26 the children of Alhaja Dr. Mulikat Abegbe Shonekan, Oloye Arigbabuwo adinni fulfilled that scriptural commandment with encomiums and praises as they threw a birthday party in honour of their beloved mother Alhaja Dr. Mulikat Abegbe Shonekan, Oloye Arigbabuwo adinni at 83.
Earlier before they gathered for a party celebration, the children have observed a special prayer for their mother at her house to seek for God continuous blessings upon her to be able to live long in good health and happiness.
The main ceremony took place at Adesba Hotel Hall in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital, had in attendance relatives, children, grand children, friends and well-wishers drawn from different walks of life.
It was a colorful ceremony as the children brought a juju artist to entertain the crowd and accolades rented the air as the celebrant children were seen dancing also spraying their mother different currency to show love and appreciation.
In what can be described as a show of love and admiration for their mother, the newly installed Atayese Obinrin Baale Fajol Obantoko,who is also one of the daughter to the celebrant, High Chief Alhaja Basirat Shonekan-Umar considers her mother as her mentor.
She described the celebration as best thing a children can give to their parents especially in their life time.
Alhaja Basirat who appreciated everyone who grace the occasion said it's their prayer for her mother to live long in sound health so that they can do more good thing for her.
Another son of mama, Selim Shonekan who also penned down a heart-warming message to celebrate her mother said her mom is a very dear person to him.
According to him "Mummy is a very dear person to me she is dear to the family too"
"She has been instrumental in every way you can possibly think of, during the times of my struggle mummy was there."
"She is the backbone of the family and i will forever be grateful and i just had to make this occasion."
On his parts, Aremu Abdul-Gafar Shonekan prayed that he wish all his children could take care of him the way he care for her mother.
His words "Oh my mum she is the best mum I ever known you know she is always their for every single one of us since childhood and I really appreciated everything she has done from the beginning even till now"
"She is a good mum, very lovely mum and I hope the way I take care of my mum, my children will do the same to me because I really take care of my parents especially my dad before he passed away."
"I have been in Nigeria over 8-years, is going to be 9-years there is no Friday or weekend have never missed her even if am in Abuja I will have to come and visit her and I hope my kids will do the same to me, Abdul-Gafar explained.
Chief Kabir Shonekan, Akinrogun Itoko Egbaland also expressed gratitude to the well-wishers who came to celebrate with their mother.
