2023: Niyas Joins Ogun Assembly Race, Declares Intention

Ahead of 2023 general elections, a former Councillorship Aspirant of ward 16 in Abeokuta North Local Government Engr. Shokunle Afeez popularly known as (Niyas) has formally declared interest to contest the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the Abeokuta North Constituency seat in the State House of Assembly.

Engr Shokunle, made the official declaration during a consultative meeting with Oke-Ogun elders and leaders at Alhaji Ahmed Taiwo's residence in Oke Ata, under Abeokuta North local government, the state capital.

Among other leaders at the meeting included Prince Tunde Tella, Chief Timmy. Hon Motun, Hon Akande, Hon Oluajo, Hon. Ifekayode among others.

Engr. Shokunle promised inclusion of youthful representation in the house and as well be a good ambassador as a true son of Oke-Ogun community. 

He hinted that his aspiration will strive for good governance and drive development to Abeokuta North aside the primary responsibility of lawmaking, saying that all the oversight function of a lawmaker entails, will be vigorously pursued.

On the social media of his supporters they have promised to campaign vigorously to ensure he emerged APC candidate come 2023 general elections.

"Our prayers for you today and always is that you shall Excel in your ambition, come 2023, you shall be sworn in as a member of OGHA. Amen. Let the campaign officially begin."
