Illegal Operation: NSCDC/ALPSPN Task Force Arrests Three Illegal Security Guards In Ogun
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Tasks force has apprehended three private security guards and some individuals operating without license in Ogun State.
The NSCDC Task force team in conjunction with all the private security outfits in the state led by the Private Guards Company (PGC) Department Commandant, Olanrewaju Makinde.
Our correspondent gathered that the arrested Illegal Security operators included E-Guard Security company floated by Mr.Enrha Augustine a retired police officer, TAITSU protection security co Ltd in charge of conference hotel,GRA,Ijebu ode and Equity Resorts,Eruwon.operating in different uniforms, Crossworld Security Services in charge of Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode among others.
Dept Commandant, Mr Makinde while addressing journalists explained that the tasks force carried out the operation with the directive of the commandant general.
According to him "From the Ogun State Command of NSCDC, (PGC) Department are out according to the directive from the commandant general NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi in conjunction with the Association of Private Security Practitioners in every states of the federation that we should fish out all illegal operators.''
"We started this operation January but because of logistics especially fuel crisis we stopped, but now, we are starting it in Ijebu Ode and Shagamu zone"
"We want to place it on record that we shall not leave any stone unturned, we will make sure that all illegal security operators are fished out in our jurisdiction."
Mr. Makinde further hinted that the Association has made a heavy play down that anybody to come on board if they really want to practice adding that the government has also made it clear that whoever that want to under take security business should come on board, get your licensed.
"Because of the state of security in the country, we want to know who is who, so we can know ourselves properly, he concluded.
On his parts, the state PRO of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, also Chairman,Jigan Private Security Limited Hon. Jigan Taiwo Ademolu revealed that at least three major companies operating illegally has been apprehended.
The association spokesperson said the arrested people are unregistered security outfits operating within the axis of Ijebu promising to fish out other illegal private security companies operating in the state.
His words "In Ijebu land, especially Ijebu Ode we have been able to identifies three major companies that are operating illegally, with the tasks force formed by the commandant general of NSCDC, we make a move to fish them out by going to their bits especially their hideouts and with the assistance and support of NSCDC we are able to achieve it."
He promised the Ogun State commandant and the commandant of the PGC that the association will give them all the necessary support to go out to achieve the aim in getting quacks out of the business.
He therefore commended the NSCDC for coming out with the program promising that the association will give them all the necessary support to get all the quacks out of this business.
