Lisabi Festival: IBA Foundation CEO, Jinadu Ibrahim Storms Alake Palace, Pays Homage

Egba-born socialite and Chief Executive Officer, CEO of IBA Foundation, Hon. Jinadu Abiodun Ibrahim joined in the celebration of the Lisabi Day that marked the 35th festival which was held at the Palace of the Paramount Ruler, Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo.

Hon. Jinadu, an aspirant to represent Abeokuta-North State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly said that Ogun State is rich in culture and history, and such richness should be passed from generation to generation.

The festival, which was attended by descendants of the Egba Kingdom and visitors from all over the country was a platform for the CEO and members of IBA Foundation to pay homage to the Paramount Ruler. 

He added that the Lisabi Festival is held in high esteem by the Egba people as it reminds them of how they conquered their enemies in their torrid past as well as the individuals that played key roles in liberating the people, especially Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala.

According to him, "On this year 2022 edition of Lisabi Day Festival, I join the people of Egba Kingdom in welcoming all sons, daughters and visitors to the historic city of Abeokuta.

"The Lisabi Festival is an expression of the richness of our culture and history of the Egba people, and it commemorates the celebration of the Egba hero called Lisabi".

"Lisabi is known as a great warrior who fought hard for the peaceful settlement of the Egba people during the inter-tribal wars around the 1930s".

The celebration of culture and history is synonymous with us as a people, and it is a culture that should be upheld and passed down from generation to generation", he added.

He also enjoined the youths constituency across the country to be of good behaviour and embrace the social heritage and traditions of their land, and also get involved in the active politics of their immediate societies for the sake of Nigeria development.
