Easter: Ogun lawmaker urges Nigerians to work for unity, peace


Mr Damilola Soneye, Member Ogun House of Assembly , on Sunday called on Nigerians irrespective of religious affiliation to work for the unity, peace and progress of the nation.



Soneye made the call in his Easter message to his people at Obafemi Owode state constituency in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.



The lawmaker enjoined the people, especially Christians, to use the Easter season to pray fervently for continued peace and unity in the country.



Soneye opined that the lessons of humility, perseverance, resilience, sacrifice and total victory, which played out in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, should be the watchword for all Nigerians.



He added that all residents of Obafemi Owode, the state and the nation at large needed to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ.


Soneye commended the people for their support and contribution toward the promotion of democratic governance, saying he would continue to ensure dividend of democracy cuts across the constituency.


The lawmaker appealed to his constituents to continue to be vigilant and promote acts that would further bring developments to the local government.
