Olumide Jones commiserates with Gov. Seyi Makinde Over the Death of Alafin Oyo


Ogun central senatorial hopeful under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Olumide Jones has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde, and the people of Oyo State over the demise of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

Jones disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Recall that the Alafin Oyo died on Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, after a brief illness, at 83.

Jones said" On behalf of the people of Ogun State, I commiserate with the people of Oyo State, the immediate family of the Alaafin, the chiefs, Baales, as well as the Oyo State Traditional Council over the passing of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi .

“The late monarch’s 52 years reign making him the longest serving Alaafin, recorded.

"He will always be remembered for his contributions to the peace, unity and development of his kingdom and the entire Oyo state" he submitted.
