Mr Dotun Olakanle, the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos has been alleged to have sworn-in one nominee without due process.
According to source from the council, it was gathered that Olakanle disregarded the activities to the Legislative arm of the LCDA who had carried out the swearing in exercise on Wednesday in Lagos.
It was gathered that the nominee, Mr Folu Omotesho was not cleared based on petitions written against him from his ward.
According to source, Omotesho was allegedly accused of various allegations which hindered his screening.
It was gathered that the legislative arm had earlier set-up a 4-man committee to investigate the allegations before he could be cleared, but was sworn-in by the chairman inspite of receiving the report of the screening process of all the nominees so far cleared by the house alongside the decision of the house on the petitioned nominee.
It was also gathered that the council chairman had included two other persons whose names were not on the list for screening and were never screened by the legislative arm.
When contacted the leader of Onigbongbo LCDA legislative arm, Mr Kayode Opayemi confirmed that the nominee and two others were sworn-in in secret.
Opayemi said the act contravened the local government constitution and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
