Atiku defeats Wike to emerge PDP’s presidential candidate

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has been declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries.

At the end of the exercise held at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, Atiku polled 371 votes to beat his closest challenger, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who polled 237 votes.

Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, had 70 votes to place third.
