Mr Teen Nigeria Runner, Kolawole Launches Record Label



The winner of Mr Teen Nigeria, Apesin Rahmon Kolawole has advised the Federal Government to take full advantage of the potentials abound in the entertainment industry for the economic growth of the country.

Apesin said the industry is capable of generating enough revenue to run the country if properly managed, adding that it was high time Nigeria diversified from a mono economy and over dependence on crude oil to other industries. 


Apesin equally explained that music, being a serious business cannot be put aside even as he argued that music is a way of life and cannot be over emphasized. 


He gave the advice while launching his new record label -World Chase record label in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Monday. 


His words "If the music industry is properly managed, Nigeria entertainment industry is capable of generating enough revenue to run the country. It is high time Nigeria diversify from a mono economy and over dependence on crude oil to other industries. 


"The entertainment industry is a business that generates value by providing people with something interesting to do. It is a form of activity that holds the attention or gives pleasure and delight to people. The global record music industry has recorded huge growth over the years. 

"These youths, if properly groomed would become superstars and revenue would be generated through their talents. Apesin, who is the record label boss of World Chase record label, a fast growing music record label, argued that there is nothing stopping Nigeria artiste from clinching more International awards if the government really gives the industry the attention it needed


He called on State Government to compel their various Commissioners for Youths and Sports to start programmes that would attract youths with musical talents. 


 The pop music lover in an interview with newsmen disclosed that the essence of his new record label is to create a platform to groom and promote young Nigerians that have passion for the music business. 


The young ambitious Kolawole made the first runner up at the just concluded Mr. Teen Nigeria contest which, held at Victoria Island, Lagos in April, 2022.


Sharing his experience, Apesin stressed that being a runner up is an indication that he is made for the top, saying "It is our relation to circumstances that determines their influence over us. The same wind that carries one vessel into port, may blow another off shore, he added." 


On his music career, he stated "The business of music must be taken seriously. Music is the literature of the heart; it commences where speech ends. Where words fail, music speaks.
