Prof. David Bamgbose, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Ogun West has vowed to defeat any candidate presented by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election.
Bamgbose told newsmen in Abeokuta that he had what it takes to be the choice of the people.
The PDP senatorial candidate explained that his wealth of experience in all sectors of the economy would give him added advantage.
" From what we heard, out of the people that are aspiring from the ruling party and some other party, I have contributed more for the development in Yewa/Awori in Ogun West than anyone of them.
" I have been involved in human development, provision of education, provision of scholarships, prison education.
" We practically have our hands in all the local governments in Ogun West. Who has that kind of anticident among them? Is it somebody that is coming from somewhere, who has been somewhere or an individual that has have the privilege of being supported by the majority of the people in Ogun West.
" I have run election in Ogun state as a governorship candidate in 2015 general elections and I ran my election back to back, no compromise, no negotiation.
" With the overwhelming support of the PDP in Ogun West and Ogun state, I will run this campaign conveniently and we will win because we have all it takes," he said.
He expressed disappointment on those that had represented the district in the past, saying that they failed to meet the yearning of the people.
" We have not been having quality representation in Ogun West. If you look at infrastructural development, roads, water, sewage, schools, markets and so on.
" Somebody will come with the excuse that its an Executive responsibility to provide those amenities, but that's should not be the case.
" Budget is being presented at the National Assembly every year, are they asking questions, what is the need of my people, what is the need of my senatorial district. I want to say that I can conclude that we have not been having it very fair at the Executive level and the legislative level.
" My coming on board is to raise the interest of my senatorial district above personal interest. It will give me the leverage to push at the national level for a fair share of what rightly belongs to us.
" I will use all capacity that I have that I will ensure something is put in the budget for Ogun West Senatorial District.
" We will ensure that constituency projects target the needs of the people and it is executed
