Olumide Jones commiserates with Ogun organised labour, NUT over comrade’s death

Berates Gov Abiodun over non payment of dues.

A Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party in Ogun State Hon olumide Jones has commiserated with the organised labour, the Nigerian Union of Teachers and the family of Mr Sunday Ogunjimi, a teacher who slumped and died on Friday at the secretariat of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Abeokuta.

It was gathered that Ogunjimi, along with his colleagues, had converged on the Ogun NLC Secretariat to listen to the leaders of the labour movement on the resolution of the industrial action the workers embarked upon when he allegedly slumped and died.

Hon olumide Jones condemned the way workers are been treated by the State government lead by Prince Dapo Abiodun especially over non payment of salaries, deduction, and other entitlement.

He described the death of the late comrade as a big loss not only to his immediate family and labour, but the state at large.

According to Jones "It was a bad thing for government to be owing salaries, unremitted deductions and other entitlement.

"These people are parents that have family members looking up to them for feeding, where do you expect them to get funds to take care of their families."

He also berates the government over poor welfare condition of the workers.

He then urged the Labour to do everything within their capacity to support new government that will take the welfare of workers seriously.

Jones said that they should be ready to vote out APC government at all levels, especially in Ogun State and support PDP to transform the state.

He pray that Almighty God will give the family the strength to bear the loss.
