Again, Gov. Abiodun's Aide, Lawal Gets Merit Award, Inducted Into Committee of Distinguished Alumni of MAPOLY
In recognition of his steering performance in the Public domain, another feather has been added to the cap of the Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor on Youths and Sports, Comrade Olamide Lawal, as he was honoured with the prestigious Committee of Distinguished Alumni Award(CODA) by Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association, last Saturday.
The Committee of Distinguished Alumni Award (CODA) of the Alumni Association is an award specially reserved for selected individuals and corporate bodies who are directly or indirectly linked with Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and have contributed immensely to the development of the Institution and the community at large.
In his address, President, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni Association, Pastor Ezekiel Obasanya noted that “these eminent alumni of our great citadel of learning, MAPOLY have been continually impacting their communities by doing impressive things around the world ”
He pointed out that the Association found them worthy of the Award after rigorously reviewing their performance and contribution to Humanity over the years.
Others honoured with the award and inducted into the CODA were the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture who is also a former Rector of the School, Dr.Adeola Odedina; Dr. Seyi Soremekun; Tpl Waheed Kadiri, Olota of Ota, HRM Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, Agura of Gbagura, HRM Oba Saburee Bakre , General manager of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA),Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Wakama among others.
Olamide Lawal served as Students Union Government President of the Institution in 2007 and played a major role towards the restoration of MAPOLY to its former self by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR when he assumed office in 2019.
In his acceptance speech, Olamide Lawal showed gratitude to the alumni association for finding him worthy of such distinguished Award.
He promised to continuously be a good ambassador of his alma mata and protect its interests at all times.
