Ogun PDP Students Movement condemns killing of MAPOLY Student

Group comprising of former-students' leaders under the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state has condemned in strong term, the raping and killing of Blessing Odeh, a 200-level National Diploma student of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta by unknown kidnappers.

In a press statement jointly signed by the group officers in charge of Students Mobilization and Media Secretary, Comrade Sodeinde Daniel - Formula and Comrade Adejumo Wasiu - Westo, the PDP students' wing called the state government and security agencies to do a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the rape and killing, and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to face the full wrath of law.

While expressing their pains on Blessing's killing, the group also blamed the current administration of govenror Dapo Abiodun for lack of adequate security and poor attention to educational sector in the state.

"The raping and killing of one of our students, the Beauty Contest's Winner of MAPOLY, Blessing Odeh by unknown kidnappers was barbaric and uncalled for"

"The state governor, Dapo Abidoun, the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies should apologies to the entire students' populace, investigate the matter thoroughly and also find the perpetrators to face the full wrath of law"

"We cannot continue to watch our students and future leaders being kidnapped, raped and killed by unknown kidnappers and gunmen"

"This act is very sad and governor Abiodun needs to take responsibility by tendering his unreserved apologies to the students populace, for lack of adequate security and poor attention to educational sector in the state"

"It is expected of this present administration of governor Abiodun to rise up to its responsibility and fundamental duties, to protect lives and properties, instead, govenror Abiodun has lost concentration and only rushing up to deceive innocent citizens with the intention to win an undeserved second term in 2023"

"We urge the commissioner of Police in Ogun state and all security agencies to do everything within their capacity to investigate thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to book, while we pray to God to give Blessing's family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss", the group expressed.

The group further demanded that adequate compensation should be given to the family of the deceased and urged the people to be security conscious and report all suspects to the relevant authorities.

Other officers of the PDP students' wing who co-signed the statement include; Comrade Opaogun Ajibola - Opa, Comrade Odunuga Babatunde - Yayaflex, Comrade Ogunbona Temiloluwa - Gbera, Comrade Showunmi Emmanuel - Aboki and others.
