Mammoth Crowd of Supporters Storm Yewa As ADC Governorship Candidate, Otegbeye Visits Olu Ilaro




A mammoth crowd of supporters and party faithful yesterday stormed the Olu Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland palace, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle to welcome the African Democratic Congress ADC) Governorship Candidate Bar. Biyi Otegbeye and his entourage.
Bar. Otegbeye, a true son of Yewa land and the only Governorship candidate was received by hundreds of enthusiastic supporters from different groups, shown the acceptability of Biyi Otegbeye and rejection of other Governorship Candidates who are not from the zone. 
The ADC Governorship Candidate who started his address at the palace praised the God Almighty for sparing his life and the successful outcome of INEC list he made adding that before the INEC list came out, every candidates are just doing political struggle and calculation.

He explained further that  his Candidacy is unprecedented because in Ogun West he stand as the only candidate for the first time. 

Otegbeye who maintained that the visitation was purposely to seek royal blessing before the campaign began said Yewa/Awori Sons lost the opportunity to govern the state in 2011, 2015 and 2019 with multiple governorship candidates coming from the zone which truncated their chances. 

While seeking for the support of the Kabiesi for the journey, Otegbeye hinted that this is the first time Yewa/Awori would have a single candidate since the return of democracy in 1999, called on the electorate particularly people of Yewa/Awori to support him during the 2023 general elections.

He said if the Yewa/Awori can come together to preach Unity as Yewa Traditional Rulers always preached in every occasion, the zone would have produced Governor by now, appealing to Oba Olugbenle to give him support he deserves to come out Victorious in the coming poll. 

In his entourage included the former Ogun west senator, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, former Ogun Governorship Candidate, Lanre Banjo among other leaders of the party.

Responding, the Olu Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle while praying for the candidate for successful journey on the race urged him to seek God’s favour in his political journey.

Oba Olugbenle, therefore, cautioned politicians, especially from Yewa extraction to avoid bloodshed.
