Tobade Progressive Club Mourns Death of Agura Of Gbagura







A socio economic and development group, Tobade Progressive Club has mourned the passage of Agura of Gbagura land in Abeokuta North local government of Ogun State, Oba Sabur Bakare Jamolu (II). 

The condolence message was contained in press statement issued by the group Chairman, Chief Shawmill Tunji Keshinro made available to journalists through its publicity Secretary, Hon. Soaga Babatunde.

The press statement expressed shock over the death of the late monarch saying that his reign would be remembered for stability.

According to the statement which read in parts "TOBADE PROGRESSIVE CLUB,GBAGURA,ABEOKUTA mourns her Grand Patron, His Royal Highness, Oba Sabur Bakare, Jamolu II, the 9th Agura of Gbagura and paramount ruler of Gbagura land, Abeokuta, Ogun State."

"Oba Bakare, until his death was a devoted Muslim, kind to heart, easy going and caring personality, whose reign would be remembered for peace,stability, development and unprecedented recognition in all nooks and crannies of Gbagura land, home and abroad."

"TOBADE PROGRESSIVE CLUB,GBAGURA, ABEOKUTA Executive Chairman, Chief Shawmill Tunji Keshinro,CNA in his tribute made known how TOBADE PROGRESSIVE CLUB was planning to officially decorate the late monarch as Grand Patron of the club scheduled for the day after 2023 ileya festival in the June 2023 which now has been postponed till a latter time due to this great loss."

"Chief Tunji Keshinro admitted that the four years reign of the late monarch as the golden era for Gbagura kingdom and its environs."

"The Executives and entire members of Tobade Progressive Club,Gbagura (a.k.a Egbe Tobade)commiserate with the late monarch's family, sons and daughters of Gbagura land at home and in diaspora."

"We equally join the Muslim community in Gbagura land, most especially, our dear father, the Chief Imam of Gbagura land,Gbagura Council of chiefs and the entire good people of Gbagura and Egbaland in this period of  bereavement and mourning!" the Executive Chairman of Tobade mourned."

"HRM Oba Bakare received the staff of office from former Governor Ibikunle Amosun May 21, 2019, after the demise of his predecessor, Oba Halidu Laloko, Sobekun II."

The group therefore prayed that may Allah repose his soul and grants him the best of paradise.
