Ogun Silverbird's reporter, Olukoga emerges Chairman NUJ consolidated chapel

The Consolidated Chapel of the Ogun State council of Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) today elected new executives.

The election which was conducted by Comrade Wale Olanrewaju led State leadership, saw Olusegun Olukoga of Silverbird television emerged as the Chairman while Bosede Akintunde of family fm took the position of Vice Chairman, Barakat Oyebanji voted as Secretary while Channels TV 's reporter, Bidemi Bello picked the Auditor.

The affirmative election took place at the Chapel's secretariat located at Ita-eko, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Speaking shortly after the swearing - in, the NUJ Chairman, urged the chapel to sustain the unity of purpose in which they are known for.

He, however, called for cooperation and support for the council, disclosing that all and sundry must work together for the progress of the Union.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, assured his members that he would put their welfare and interest first, saying that he would work for them.

He said he would build on the good and healthy working relationship with the NUJ leadership.

Olukoga also appreciated the out-gone executives led TVC's Kazeem Olowe for laying down good legacy.

His words: " Today's event is remarkable. As a chapel, we have come a long way, the journey was rough but in the end, it paid off. Now, like the name of the chapel, I will consolidate on the legacies of the pioneer executive. I will work for you, I will work for the interest and welfare of our members". 

On relationship with NUJ leadership, he stated "I will lead my members to building a good and healthy working relationship with Ogun NUJ leadership." 

He added "It is not enough to just thank Akinwale Olanrewaju led-executive; it is important to register the chapel's unwavering support and cooperation for maximum growth and retention". 

 Olukoga, however, announced the conversion of the chapel's 2023 electoral committee into World Television Day committee.
