Egungbohun Propose Bills For Legislative Funds Management

Member of Ogun State House of Assembly, who also the Vice chairman finance and appropriation, Hon. Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun has opened debate on a bill for a law to make provision for the Assembly legislative funds management law 2023. 

The lawmaker representing Yewa North (I I) Ketu State Constituency at the plenary session explained the the law is to set up for the House of Assembly adequate mechanisms to enchant efficient management of fund.

He said "The State House of Assembly shall operate from her fund allocation at least three (3) Sub Accounts for ease of Administration for the Assembly to cater for (1) the legislators,(2) The staff /management and (3)Assembly services Commission and any other legislative institution in this law. "

"To Mentain the House Account with such bank or banks in the State as may be considered viable,after due consultation with the Speaker and Fund Management Board."

"Administer the House Account and apply the funds in the account to the services and administration of the House of Assembly in accordance with applicable financial regulations in the State,"

"Hon.Haruna said, Mentain proper books of account and records in such forms that shall confirm to standard financial practices and be responsible for the preparation of quarterly financial statements of accounts which shall be submitted to the accountant-General in the manner prescribed by applicable financial regulations in the State".

After his submission, some other Honorable colleagues and member of the committee also contributed with serious reasonable words and supported to make sure that the bill scape the second reading .
