NANTMP SETS TO PARTNER FEDERAL GOVT. AGENCIES FOR ADVANCEMENT OF HERBAL MEDICINE IN NIGERIA

                                             
The National Association Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners, (NANTMP) has completed arrangements to partner with Federal Ministry of Health and Federal Ministry of Science and technology in a bid to provide affordable and qualitative herbal healthcare service to the citizenry across Country as recommended by the Wold Health Organization (WHO)
                                        
The Vice President, South West Zone , Chief Dr, Samson Soyoye disclosed this during a South West Zone meeting and inauguration of new executive held at the African College of Traditional Medicine Auditorium , Elekuro Wasimi, Ewekoro , Local Government ,Area of the State.
                                       
Chief Soyoye noted that the newly sworn-in Executive members of the Association were determined to pursue the set goal of the association by embarking on restructuring , repositioning and hermonisation of all the necessary aspects of the association and its members through the inauguration of various fact-finding committees of powerful delegations that cut- across the key stakeholders including representative of Federal Ministry of Health , Science and World Health Organisation WHO to research and discover antidotes for some of the new ravaging deseases among the people.
                                          
His words" NANTMP is an organization of people of set goals and its doesn't belong to any individual but the Federal Government of Nigeria and every citizens of the country should embrace NANTMP as the only recognized and established Herbal Medical Association to compliment government efforts at improving citizens access to the quality and affordable health care services within their locality with effective monitoring and control. As a matter of fact, we must give Kudos to our dynamic Governor in Ogun State for encouraging our practices.
                                         
   
In his address, the National Secretary NANTMP Alhaji Adeagbo Raji , representing the National President Dr, Maikudi Shaba , appreciated all the South West members for attending the innagural zonal meeting and commended them for putting their house in order by voting for Chief Samson Soyoye as their National leader for the zone, assuring them of his maximum support from the National body.

He called on every individual practising Alternate Medicine to come and identified with the NANTMP being the only certified Association they have to belong before being registered. He cited numerous advantages awaiting them as registered members of the association also appreciating the wonderful efforts of the present administration in Ogun State for providing enabling environment for the sub-sector to fully developed in line with the WHO directives.
                               
 Speaking at the innagural zonal meeting, Prince Mare Olusesi who doubled as the President Association of Traditional Midwifery of Nigerian , said lots of modernisation had been brought into the sub-sector across the globe, saying that the the leadership of NANTMP would not afford to fold their arms while other countries of the world were benefitting from the WHO support programme to develop herbal medicine.
                                             
In their separate remarks, Dr, Funmilayo Olanrewaju from Ondo and Dr. Iyiola Omotoso from Oyo States respectively , appreciated the new leadership of the Association and assured them of their support , calling on the South West governor's to rally round and support the practising of the Alternate Medicine as an alternative means of generating revenue into government coffers of Government without waiting for the Federal allocation to pay bills.
                                            
At the high point of the event was the dissolution of all the old executives at the state and local governments chapter of NANTMP across the South West Zone of the country.
