Nigerian American, Victor Benjamin Receives Prestigious Recognition from Houston Mayor

In a moment of pride and admiration, the Mayor of Houston has bestowed a prestigious recognition upon a Nigerian American graduate, Victor Benjamin for his outstanding academic achievements.
The recognition according to the Mayor of the City, Sylvester Turner said Victor Benjamin remain steadfast in his academics saying that he graduated with a great determination and dedication.
According to the congratulatory message issued and signed by Turner, he said "The City of Houston Congratulates Victor Benjamin on remaining steadfast in your academics and graduating with great determination and dedication, earning your Juris Doctor degree. The educational foundation you have gained paves the way for a promising future. May you apply the values and knowledge you have learned as you continue your lifelong journey."
Turner equally commended Benjamin for his academic success and extends best wishes on all his future endeavors.
Victor Benjamin was said to be serves as a testament to the student's dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
The young and vibrant Nigerian American hailed from Abia State in Nigeria, graduated with Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from Texas Southern University- Thurgood Marshall school of Law.
Victor U. Benjamin is a first generation Nigerian-American who grew up in Detroit, MI.
Benjamin graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University in 2018, and obtained his Juris Doctor from Texas Southem University Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
While in law school, Benjamin was selected for the Justice John Paul Stevens Fellowship. During his fellowship, he gained legal experience through his internship in the felony division of the Harris County District Attorney's Office, in Houston, Texas, US.
In 2021, he served as a regional board director for the Black Law Student Association, where he facilitated relationships between law students and big law firms.
In addition to his education, Benjamin is a highly decorated eight year U.S. Army veteran. He served as a Military Intelligence officer assigned to European Command (EUCOM) Detachment 1. Under his leadership, he created Standard. Operating Procedures (SOP) and established a Family Readiness Program for the families of deployed Soldiers in his unit. Although Benjamin has retired from service, He still maintains his discipline and core army values.
Benjamin has continued his community service through his nonprofit organization, Big Brother Benjamin Foundation, Inc. He is also an active member of the Houston NAACP,and he is currently serving on the Houston Bar Association's Veterans committee.
