Ogun Assembly: Deputy Minority Leader wants govt to support production, preaches love at Christmas

The Deputy Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Lukmon Atobatele has called on the state government to pay special attention to increasing production in the State by supporting small and medium scale enterprises.

He stated this in his Christmas message in Abeokuta , while observing that the level of poverty in the country is gradually taking its toll on the people.

Hon Atobatele who is representing Abeokuta South State Constituency 1, said the people must use the Christmas period as a time to show love, have sober reflections, exhibit hope and create solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting us as a people.

He urged every individual to be their brothers keeper by gifting others, just as Christ was a great gift to the world.

The Deputy Minority Leader who is the Dagunja of Egbaland, said the call has become so important at this time to create genuine solutions to some of the Nation's challenges as our people are finding it hard to celebrate and make ends meet.

Hon Atobatele said, supporting and investing in the micro economy would boost production of more goods and services, thereby creating job opportunities.

According to him,"we must not lose sight of production in the areas of clothing like adire, pottery, and manufacturing".

"The government must continue its efforts to create a conducive environment for business to thrive as it is already doing. This would further boost the State's internally generated revenue, create employment and reduce poverty among other benefits", Hon Atobatele said.
