Oniwoye-Yewa, Oba Makinde Celebrates 3rd Years On Throne, Praises Gov. Abiodun, Olu Ilaro



...Appeals To Sons and Daughters In Diaspora Not To Forget Home 

 


The Oniwoye of Iwoyeland in Yewa South Local government of Ogun State, HRM, Oba Ololade Buhari Makinde has celebrated his third year on the throne of his forefathers.

The young and handsome monarch as parts of activities marking the celebration flagged off the anniversary with a prayer session at a popular township river "Agbo Odu" for the progress of the community and its environs. 

The celebration also witnessed other traditional rulers which included HRM Oba Rotimi Mulero, the Aboro of Ibese Land, HRM Oba Lukman Kuoye, the Olu Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Oyebanji Adetunji Oladapo, the Oloja of Oja-Odan and HRM Oba Adegbola Alaye, the Oniro Of Agude-Yewa.

Speaking at the celebration, HRM Oba Makinde appreciated the Almighty God for sparing his life to witness this year anniversary mark exactly 3years he ascended the throne of his forefathers.


Oniwoye also extended his Heartwarming appreciation to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for "during his tenure" was crowned as Oniwoye based on merit and HRM Oba Dr. Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle Mfr, Asade Agunloye IV, Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland for his fatherly advice and support over the years. 

The monarch also specially thanked Chief Adewale Saranda Adele of Iwoye and Babaloja of Yewaland for his support during his struggle to become Oniwoye, during the coronation and after the coronation. 


He said "I am not only celebrating the anniversary today, surely God has been favorable to us all in Iwoyeland in terms of transformation and progress"

As a traditional ruler, my three years journey was never an easy feat because it was full of ups and downs but i took the up as encouragement and the downs as challenges. 

On this note, "On behalf of my myself, my family, I want to thank all the good people of Iwoyeland for their unflinching support and love for me as their king because as a family we have stood together since I ascended and we are still standing together and we are going to continue to stand together in unity and progress. 

Oba Makinde also extended his appreciation to other traditional rulers for their love and support, he said, I appreciate you all for celebrating me with your prayers,  love, gifts and your words of advice.  


I also want to urge all the good people of Iwoyeland to continue in our strides and efforts in making the community great, and those in home and diaspora should not forget their origin, we have no other home, we should not forget our home. 

His words "This is the time everyone needs to come together as one, we should not dwell in the past, I want to believe that there's no community without challenges, let us see the past as bygone on any issue you must have heard about the town, I appeal to everyone to support me on this throne of my forefathers, togetherness we shall achieve great things in Iwoyeland. 

We have son and daughters within and outside the country who are so willing to come home but due to one reason to another, most of them are afraid to visit their origin, but if we can surmount the challenges and live in peace, people in diaspora will be so happy to come home,.Oniwoye concluded.
