NANS Ogun JCC Applauds FUNAAB VC, Advocates for Improved Students Support





The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State Joint Campus Committee (JCC) has commended the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Kehinde Olusola for his efforts in bringing infrastructural reforms and elevating the institution's academic standing among its peers in Africa.

This commendation was made while the leadership of NANS, Ogun JCC led by Comrade Adeyanju Francis Oluwafemi (Experience) paid a courtesy visit to the varsity VC at the school campus in Abeokuta, the state capital. 

Professor Kehinde was lauded for his leadership in areas such as, upgrading campus infrastructure: The NANS representatives acknowledged the positive impact of recent infrastructural improvements on student life and learning environment.

"Enhancing academic standards: The delegation praised the Vice Chancellor's commitment to raising the university's academic profile within Africa."

However, the NANS leadership also presented a list of demands aimed at further improving the student experience at FUNAAB. These demands included:

Renovation of the Students' Union Government (SUG) building: The dilapidated state of the SUG building was highlighted as a hindrance to effective student representation and engagement.

Extension of School Fee Deadline: This request aimed to allow students more time to sought for their fees so as to enable them cement their studentships and write exams at due dates. This was immediately granted by Professor Kehinde.

Provision of a dedicated mobility/bus for the SUG: This request aimed to facilitate the smooth execution of student government activities and enhance accessibility for student leaders.

Sponsorship of leadership training for both the SUG and NANS: The students expressed a desire to enhance their leadership skills and effectively represent their peers.

Improved student welfare: The NANS delegation emphasized the need for measures to address various student welfare concerns on campus.

While addressing the students body,  Professor Kehinde expressed his appreciation and commended them for their proactive approach and assured them of his commitment to addressing their concerns within the framework of available resources. 

Prof. Kehinde also encouraged the students to continue their engagement with the university administration through constructive dialogue.
