Idogo Town Agog As Monarch Confers Chieftaincy Title On Ogun PDP Chieftain, Chief Salako, Wife



The ancient town of Idogo in Ogun State's Yewa South Local Government Area was agog on Sunday, 26th January, 2025, as Chief Olaseni Olubusola Salako, a prominent Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain, Olaseni Salako and his wife, Mrs. Adewunmi Salako received chieftaincy titles. 


The Onidogo of Idogo Land, HRM, Alayeluwa Oba Saheed Adewale Olubiyi, conferred the titles of Apagunpote and Yeye Apagunpote of Idogo Kingdom upon the couple.

While presenting the Chieftaincy title at his palace, Oba Olubiyi, described Chief Salako as a renowned human capacity builder whose positive impact has been felt far and wide across Idogo Land and its environs. 
Our correspondent gathered that the newly installed Apagunpote of Idogo Kingdom is a bona-fide son of the soil whose generosity has been felt within the community over the years. 

While speaking to journalists, Chief Salako expressed his gratitude to God Almighty, stating that the chieftaincy title is a great honor. 

He said the recognition demonstrates the appreciation of the Kabiyesi and the people of Idogo town for his contributions to the community.

In his acceptanceremarks, the new Apagunpote promised to continue to support and empower the members of the public and Idogo community, in particular through his Non Governmental Organization, the famous Salako Empowerment Foundation, SEF with the ultimate aim of  making a significant impact on the people of Idogo Kingdom and its environs.

The event had in attendance the Ogion of Alari, Oba Kehinde Adeisa, Council of Idogo Chiefs, the PDP governorship candidate in the last election, Hon. Dr. Oladipupo Adebutu, who was  represented by an high ranking party chieftain,  Apagun (Hon) Seye Sonuga. Other PDP juggernauts who decorated the event with their presence included a former Yewa South LG Executive Chairman, Hon. Adewale Sunmola, a former Executive chairman of Ipokia LG and the apex PDP leader in Ipokia/Yewa South federal Constituency,  Hon. Chief Olumide Bankole, Wonkuwo,  the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Tella. Other party chiefs included the Ogun West Senatorial Chairman, Elder Sunday Soledolu, Hon. Sekinat Adewunmi, popularly known as Alabama Omo'ba Segun Adewale, Hon kayode Bamgbose, Hon. Tosin Mautin, MOG, Hon. Rotimi Ogundele, among several others who came from far and near to celebrate with the new Apagunpote of Idogo Kingdom.
