*Akinyele Politician Appeals to COAS for Relocation of Ojoo Barracks Shooting Range*
Abuja, FCT.
7th April, 2025.
A prominent politician from Akinyele Local Govt Area of Oyo State, Hon. Wale Akinniyi (aka Senator Wale) has made a passionate appeal to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) to relocate the shooting range at Ojoo Military Barracks, citing concerns for the safety and well-being of nearby residents.
Hon. Akinniyi's appeal is contained in a letter dated April 7, 2025 which was received on the same date at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The politician's call for relocation stems from the barracks' proximity to residential areas, including the Omilabu, Arulogun, Idi-Omo communities, which are among the most prominent places in Ibadan Outer City.
With the barracks situated near communities with about 5,000 inhabitants, there are concerns over stray bullets and other potential dangers to the people.
While awaiting the prompt response of the COAS and by extension the GOC of 2 Division, Hon Akinniyi, who aspired to represent the good people of Akinyele 1 Constituency in the Oyo State House Assembly, assured the people of his continuous attention to their plight and welfare.
