An award winning young Nigerian investor, Okeke Emmanuel Chidubem, has adding another glamour to renowned philanthropist and a former Presidential aspirant Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze's projects, for transforming his life from poverty to academic excellence, and a celebrated investor.
A statement by his Dieector General/ Spokesman, Eric Oluwole, said that against this backdrop, Anakwenze called on philanthropists, the federal, state, and local governments across the country to rise and stem the painful and worrisome increasing exodus of Nigerian youths, many of whom are budding talents, abroad, in what is derisively called the Japa syndrome, by offering the youths needed support in all ramifications, especially in their time of need.
Besides, he advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take more drastic, innovative, and quick results yielding steps to strengthen the nation’s security and economy such that Nigerians, and particularly the youths will feel proud and comfortable to identify with the country, and stay back in rebuilding and up building her to the pride of Africa and the entire Black Race.
According to Oluwole, Okeke expressed his appreciation in a statement titled “From struggling street vendor's son to Engineering prodigy: How the Anakwenze project transformed a life!”
In it, Okeke detailed how through he was able to overcome poverty, rise to academic excellence, and become an award winning inventor of revolutionary machines.
He explained how Dr Anakwenze intervened to help him overcome the challenge of financial hardship which threatened to crush his potential and derail his dreams.
Okeke, whose mother is a roadside food vendor, and father battling health challenges, rising from a below-average family in Anambra State to become an award-winning innovator and an academic excellar through the assistance projects of Dr Anakwenze that sponsored me throughout my studies".
His story, which illustrates how education and philanthropy can break the chains of poverty and unleash extraordinary potential especially in Nigeria with her peculiar circumstances, is that of an inspiring resilience and generosity.
Now a young investor and inventor, Okeke has created groundbreaking mechanical devices. These include a non-biodegradable machine that converts polymer materials into petroleum and other useful by-products, such as polymer marble.
Oluwole added that furthermore, Okeke’s brilliance has earned him national recognition when he represented Anambra State at the NTA/ETV Children’s Expo 2016, where he was awarded second place in all of Nigeria.
He is the President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. He served a member representing the Faculty of Engineering in the House of Senate between Spring 2022 and Fall 2024.
Proceeding onwards, he is now applying for a Master’s in Safety & Engineering Management at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
