Makinde Flags Off Oyo Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Ijaiye, Fulfilling Promise to Transform Agriculture

In a significant stride towards repositioning agriculture as a business and economic driver, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, earlier today performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Oyo State Agribusiness Industrial Hub, Ijaiye.

Governor Makinde described the event as a promise kept, highlighting it as a major milestone in his administration’s agenda to shift the state’s agricultural sector from subsistence to large-scale, revenue-generating enterprises.

The groundbreaking is part of the broader Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme — a landmark initiative in partnership with the African Development Bank Group (AfDB). Governor Makinde expressed gratitude to his brother, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and the AfDB for their unwavering support in building a sustainable, resilient economy around agribusiness.

The Oyo State Agribusiness Industrial Hub is expected to create jobs, attract investments, boost food security, and strengthen value chains — aligning with the state’s vision for inclusive economic growth.
