Amidst ongoing allegations of financial and fraudulent activities linked to the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu has left the country.
Sources to the Chairman said he left on an annual leave vacation, but cannot ascertained if he actually got the official approval from relevant authorities before leaving the country.
This is coming on the heels of several allegations against the chairman, by the Union's Vice Chairman, who accused the chairman of embezzlement, diversion of stakeholders funds, unapproved loans, unauthorized fund transfers, and attempts to secure a N500 million bank loan using the retirement scheme as collateral without stakeholder consent.
The Vice Chairman, Comrade Oluwaseun Adedeji Oke and Comrade Olaiya Omolara, the women commission chairperson, in a petition jointly signed and address to different authorities, stated that the activities of Comrade Sanyaolu is a serious threat to the financial security of over 5,000 contributors across various state government agencies who rely on the Retirement Savings Scheme to cushion the effects of post-retirement hardship.
Meanwhile, in a statement signed by the Assistant Secretary, Comrade Kamil Ilyas, a copy obtained by our reporter, he stated that the chairman had detailed the state auditor to stand in his sted till his return from 'vacation'.
"I am delighted to inform you that Ogun State Chairman Comrade Sanyaolu Oladipupo Ismail has appointed the state Auditor Comrade Omoyele Afolasade Iyabode to hold forth for him effective from Monday 18th August’ 2025.
"The state chairman said this is necessary in order to avoid any vacuum during his vacation.
"Comrade Omoyele during this period shall attend all statutory meetings which are not limited to JNC, NLC and other important activities.
"I wish her success in the task ahead", the statement reads
