Shooting Stars Survive Kano Siege to Edge Barau FC at Sani Abacha Stadium
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) produced a gritty and disciplined performance to secure a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, despite sustained pressure from the home side.
The Oluyole Warriors dominated the early stages of the encounter, dictating the tempo and pinning Barau FC back with purposeful attacking play. Their forward momentum, however, was dealt a blow by injury concerns, particularly to goalscorer Sadiq Ibrahim, which disrupted their attacking rhythm.
Despite the setback, Shooting Stars showed resilience and tactical maturity, soaking up waves of pressure as Barau FC launched a series of relentless attacks in search of an equaliser. The home side pushed numbers forward and threatened on several occasions, but the visitors stood firm, defending resolutely to protect their slim advantage.
In the end, Shooting Stars’ early dominance and ability to endure late pressure proved decisive, as they held out bravely to claim all three points on the road in Kano.
The victory underlines 3SC’s growing confidence and fighting spirit as they continue their campaign with renewed belief.
