A grassroots politician and educationist, Comrade Idowu Daniel, has declared his intention to contest for the Ogun State House of Assembly seat representing Abeokuta South State Constituency (I) under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Idowu Daniel made his ambition known at a press conference with journalists Abeokuta, the state capital.
He stated that his decision to join the 2027 race is driven by his passion for community development and his desire to contribute meaningfully to governance at the state level.
According to him, the need to deepen representation and ensure that the voices of the people of Abeokuta South (I) are adequately reflected in legislative processes informed his decision to step into the race.
The aspirant, known for his strong grassroots appeal, explained that his candidacy is rooted in service, inclusiveness, and a people-first approach to leadership.
He also noted that as an educationist, he understands the importance of investing in human capital development, adding that education, youth empowerment, and social welfare would form key pillars of his legislative focus if elected.
Our correspondent gathered that over the years, Comrade Daniel has been actively involved in community-based initiatives, supporting youth development programs and contributing to efforts aimed at improving access to education within his constituency.
While speaking further, the aspirant expressed confidence in the democratic process, assuring constituents that his campaign would be issues-based and focused on delivering practical solutions to local challenges.
He also pledged to run an open and inclusive campaign, calling on residents, party members, and stakeholders to join hands with him in building a more prosperous and representative Abeokuta South State Constituency (I).
