PRESIDENTIAL YOUTH INITIATIVE: SPECIAL ASSISTANT MONITORS CNG RETROFITTING TRAINING IN ENUGU
Presidential Youth Initiative equips Corps Members with practical skills for careers in Nigeria’s growing CNG and automotive sector
The South-East is taking an active role in Nigeria’s emerging CNG revolution as the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives (Monitoring and Delivery), Dr. Titilope Gbadamosi, visited the NYSC Orientation Camp in Enugu State to monitor the ongoing CNG Retrofitting Training Programme.
The visit formed part of efforts to ensure effective implementation, monitoring and delivery of the Federal Government’s youth-focused skills development initiative, which is designed to equip young Nigerians with practical knowledge in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) retrofitting and automotive technology.
Driven through collaboration among the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the programme is providing Corps Members with hands-on technical skills that can open doors to employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods in Nigeria’s evolving transportation and CNG sectors.
During the visit, Dr. Gbadamosi interacted with stakeholders and observed the enthusiasm of participating Corps Members as they acquired practical skills. The engagement highlighted the importance of moving beyond theoretical training to ensure that beneficiaries gain the competence required to apply their knowledge in real-world situations.
The Presidential aide, also known as Oloye Titilope Gbadamosi, PhD, has continued to emphasise effective monitoring and delivery, ensuring that the objectives of the programme are translated into tangible outcomes for the young Nigerians it is designed to serve.
The initiative is not merely about issuing certificates; it is focused on building practical skills, creating career pathways, supporting entrepreneurship and preparing young Nigerians to participate meaningfully in the growth of Nigeria’s automotive and gas-powered mobility industry.
Dr. Gbadamosi also acknowledged the support and contributions of the Enugu State Government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Lloyd Ekweremadu, NYSC officials, the Camp Commandant, the SSA to the Governor on Youth and Students, Ms. Prisca Okeke, and Msyone, whose support has contributed to the successful implementation of the training in the state.
With the programme gaining momentum in Enugu, the message is clear: young Nigerians are not merely being prepared for the future—they are being equipped with practical skills to participate in shaping it today.
