TNA Celebrates Teachers, Applauds Awumoro Champions at Oyo Zone Football Championship




IBADAN, Oyo State — Barrister Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, popularly known as Seun TNA, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency, has joined teachers, sports enthusiasts and other stakeholders at the 2026 Oyo Zone Teachers’ Football Championship held at the Durbar Stadium, Ibadan, as part of activities marking this year’s World Teachers’ Day.

Ashamu, a passionate football enthusiast, was present at the stadium for the third-place match and the grand finale, where he interacted with participants and witnessed teachers from different schools compete in a display of teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

The championship, organised to commemorate World Teachers’ Day, provided an avenue for teachers across the Oyo Zone to unwind, build camaraderie and promote healthy competition beyond the classroom.

At the end of the keenly contested competition, Community High School, Awumoro, emerged champions.

Ashamu congratulated the victorious team while commending all participating schools for their commitment, competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

Speaking on the occasion, the APM candidate described teachers as critical builders of society, noting that their contribution extends beyond academic instruction to the formation of future generations.

He further reaffirmed his commitment to supporting community-driven initiatives across the constituency, stressing that development must include initiatives that promote social interaction, youth engagement, sports and improved livelihoods.

Ashamu’s presence at the championship is part of his continued engagement with community activities across the four local government areas that make up the Oyo Federal Constituency.

The event ultimately combined the celebration of teachers, community engagement and sporting excellence, with Community High School, Awumoro, taking home the championship honours.
